The Wayzata West Metro Chamber offers its congratulations and best wishes to Mayor Brad Wiersum on his retirement as the Mayor of Minnetonka and years of dedicated public service to the community.

Join the City of Minnetonka to celebrate Mayor Brad Wiersum's 23 years of public service as mayor for the past eight years and as a city council member since 2003. The celebration will be held at the Minnetonka Community Center from 3 - 5 pm, with the program starting at 4 pm. No registration is required.

Wiersum was first appointed to the Minnetonka City Council in January 2003, elected in November 2003 and re-elected in 2007, 2011 and 2015. He is a graduate of Calvin College and has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Minnesota. 

He retired from a business career that spanned 40-plus years in the food and agribusiness industries. He was a vice president at Pillsbury, United Sugars, CHS and other companies. 

In his elected roles, Wiersum served as a board member of the Metropolitan Association of Municipalities (Metro Cities), the League of Minnesota Cities, the Municipal Legislative Commission and the West Hennepin Affordable Housing Land Trust. Wiersum is a past president of Metro Cities and the League of Minnesota Cities and co-chair of the Regional Council of Mayors.

Brad and his wife Karen have four adult children, all of whom reside in Minnesota.
